Tension rises between neighboring Sudan and Ethiopia as Sudan recalls its ambassador to Addis Ababa after Ethiopian military alleged to have executed 7 Sudanese soldiers taken as prisoners of war (POW) and displayed the bodies to the public.
Sudanese military promised that there would be “an appropriate response”. “This treacherous act will not pass without a response,” it said. There was no immediate response from Ethiopian authorities to this claim.
The tension between two countries have run high in recent years because of Ethiopia’s construction of a hydropower dam on the Blue Nile and spillover of the conflict in Ethiopia’s northen Tigray region.
